Ramadan PB & J Protein Shake
Ramadan is upon us and for those celebrating means fasting will be involved. Fasting can hinder your performance in the gym along with wasting muscle from not getting enough protein. Your body will having to break down muscle tissue when it does not have the protein or calories to support it. Not to worry. Where there is dilemmas; there is solutions. It is not uncommon these days for athletes to train and still be fasting for a majority of the day. In fact, many people who do intermittent fasting claim to have much less brain fog and better energy when eating 1-2 times day and within certain windows of time. Ramadan is no different. All we have to do is make sure we are getting high calorie and high quality foods to ensure we can keep building muscle and strength. Here is a very delicious protein shake that delivers high quality protein, complex carbs, healthy fats, fiber, natural sugar and it’s all wrapped up for you in a PB and J! By drinking this shake; not only will you be giving your body what it needs to build muscle. It will give your body long lasting energy to get you through your days strong and supported during this Ramadan month.
Recipe
4-5 Ice Cubes
2 Cups Almond Milk
2 Scoop of Plant Based Protein Powder (Chocolate or Vanilla)
2 Tablespoons pf Peanut Butter
1 tablesppon of Honey
1 Cup of Frozen or Fresh Raspberries
1 Graham Cracker
1/2 Cup Of Egg Whites (Optional, Tasteless, Provides more protein)
Blend together until smooth and enjoy!
