EZKIEL FRENCH TOAST
I don't know about you, but I'm the type of guy that could eat breakfast for all meals of the day. Not everyone has an appetite in the morning, but if you do... this recipe is for you. It takes a classic breakfast staple and puts a healthy spin on it without sacrificing flavor. You can adjust the recipe to your macros, but the suggested portion size is:
1 Cup of Egg Whites or Egg Beaters
3 Slices of Ezekiel Bread
Cinnamon
Vanilla Extract
Sugar Free Smuckers Syrup (optional)
Take a couple drops of vanilla extract and a some dashes of cinnamon and mix it into your egg whites on a big plate. Soak each piece of bread into the egg whites and then throw it on a hot pan greased with a little spray of Pam. Prepare it the exact same way you would normally make French Toast. Some of the ingredients have been swapped out for leaner choices.
Instead of whole eggs, egg beaters are used. Instead of greasing the pan with butter, we use pam. Instead of using a bread like brioche, or American, we opt for a bread that has lower glycemic index, provides whole protein, and more fiber.
This is a go to in my diet arsenal when you want to stay lean, but not feel deprived. I dare you to try!
Bonus tip! Go with Cinnamon Raisin Ezekiel Bread.
